Gropius — aren’t they something? And then, day before yesterday, in my yard were the tiniest woodpeckers I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure it must have been a Downy Woodpecker because of its size. Was awfully cute. And, well, since I’m listing recent bird sightings, I’ll add that I also saw a hummingbird in my yard earlier this week.
Sarasota and Manatee have chapters of the National Audubon Society, but you don’t have to be an Auduboner to bird! There is a lot of learning going on on their field trips, though.
