On Sunday, I’m going to join WSLR Louisiana Gumbo Show host John Osgood on air to try to help raise funds for the station. I support WSLR because they give so much great information about everything from local to global politics and social issues and they also offer some pretty great music selections. The station programmers have been supportive of me as a local writer, which I’ve much appreciated. So, this Sunday night from approximately 7:30 pm to 9 pm, I’ll be on air, chatting, but also giving away “extra” thank yous to any callers who make a pledge while I’m on air. The extras include up to five free, signed copies of my book, Sideways in Sarasota — for any donation $35 and over. As well, for the first three callers that call in while I’m on air and donate $75 or more, I’ll throw in a free, two-week ad on this blogsite, if they want one.
MCrealityonline.com receives 30,000 hits per month. One of my recent advertisers received nearly 400 click-throughs to her website during her one-month ad buy. That’s pretty significant, really. And, if you make a tax-deductible donation of $75 or more to WSLR on Sunday night while I’m on air — you can have an ad on my site for free, for up to two weeks anytime after November 15, 2009 through March 1st, 2010. You can advertise almost anything — a church/community event, a restaurant or business, an art exhibit, new book you’ve written, your own blog/website, a favorite charity, etc. I do reserve the right to reject some advertising content, however, and you would have to provide an image if you want one included in the ad.
WSLR is a fabulous community resource offering shows such as Truly Sustainable Sarasota, Local Matters, Round Midnight, and Two Early in the Morning. So listen to WSLR anytime, but I specifically invite you to listen this Sunday night from 730 to 9 pm — give me a call at the station, ask a question, make a donation, and get a nice thank you to boot!
