Tonight I co-hosted a get-together at the Old Salty Dog on Siesta Key — with Gene Jones, President of the Florida Veterans for Common Sense organization. It was a “Meet & Greet” event for State House District 70 candidate Nancy Feehan.
The bar and deck at the Dog were filled to the brim with close to 60 interested voters who came by to hear, meet, and ask questions of Nancy.
The Dog management very kindly provided some Happy Hour munchies for the hungry crowd.
I gave a brief into for Nancy and then she just wowed the crowd. The woman was making some major mojo. On point, smart, funny, informed, easy-going — she was pretty much everything you’d want in a representative for the district that has the longest amount of beach frontage in the State of Florida. The crowd kept Feehan busy for about 30 minutes with a Q&A session following her talk — they asked hard questions on everything from renewable energy to jobs to how she’d navigate Tallahassee.
Gene Jones closed with an impassioned talk about not just what Nancy could do for the constituents of District 70, but about the very serious challenges facing veterans in Florida.
Feehan already has media endorsements from the North Port Sun, the Venice Gondolier Sun, and the Sarasota Herald Tribune. So, let me throw in my official endorsement from the blogosphere: MCRealityOnline.com recommends Nancy Feehan for State House District 70!
