I give you at least a gazillion reasons as to why you CAN. NOT. miss Saturday night’s Sarasota Orchestra Music Festival concert at the Sarasota Opera House — they’re all in my Sarasota Herald Tribune Sense and the City column (page 37E if you’re reading the print paper — or click on the hyperlink below).
Beg, borrow, or buy a ticket!

June 9, 2011 at 8:44 amgreat article, MC. Another attraction of this concert is the guest conductor Stuart Malina. I have seen him conduct many times–He is charming, energetic, and talented. His love of classical music and musicians shines through him. He won the Tony Award for Orchestration for the Billy Joel musical “Movin’ Out,” which is a clue to how unique he is a symphonic conductor.

June 9, 2011 at 9:07 amI know — I wanted to write about him, but the word count they give me is pretty short! So I had to use it to rhapsodize about my main obsessions! At least we got the picture in. Thanks for the extra info — I didn’t know that and am glad to hear he’s so good. Maybe I’ll see you there!
