Gropius — aren’t they something? And then, day before yesterday, in my yard were the tiniest woodpeckers I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure it must have been a Downy Woodpecker because of its size. Was awfully cute. And, well, since I’m listing recent bird sightings, I’ll add that I also saw a hummingbird in my yard earlier this week.
Why aren’t you an Auduboner MC?

Sarasota and Manatee have chapters of the National Audubon Society, but you don’t have to be an Auduboner to bird! There is a lot of learning going on on their field trips, though. Hey, did you know that Pileated WPs were the inspiration for Woody Woodpecker? Listen to the call and Woody’s laugh.
