RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it. A feed is available when you see the orange (or other colored) icons that look like one of these:
Once you subscribe to a feed, it is like having your favorite parts of the Web come to you. No need to go out and check for updates all the time. You can get started receiving feeds by downloading a free RSS Reader or using a newer browser like Firefox 3+ or IE 7+. Some portal websites offer the ability to subscribe to RSS feeds as well. MyYahoo, MyMSN, and Google to name a few.
Once you decide what method you want to use to subscribe to a feed, you can start clicking on those RSS feed icons to subscribe. If your software doesn’t automatically let you subscribe to the feed when left-clicking on a RSS icon, try right-clicking and choosing “copy link location”. Then paste that url into your RSS reader.
